Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Human Resource Assistant position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits.
Human Resources Assistants are confidential professionals supporting a variety of Human Resources functions. These positions provide supportive responsibilities in one or more of the following areas: recruitment and talent acquisition, employee onboarding, time and labor, employee benefits, compensation and payroll, retirement processing and leave management.
There are currently two (2) available positions. The incumbent will be required to work in-person, on campus, and may be required to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of professional experience at or above the level of an assistant in Human Resources or Payroll
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Human Resources or Payroll experience in state government or public institution of higher education.
- Experience working with human resources/payroll management information systems.
- Experience working in a collective bargaining environment.

Compensation and Employee Benefits:
The Human Resources Assistant is compensated at the Professional 2, salary level in accordance with [CSCU Human Resources Policies for Management and Confidential Professional Personnel.
