Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Visiting Assistant Professor (One-Year, Full Time Position). Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a faculty member for the 2025-26 academic year for a one-year, full time (non-tenure track) Assistant Professor position. The department is especially interested in applicants with expertise in statistics, data science or a related field, but applicants with expertise in any area of mathematics will be considered. The faculty member will be expected to teach a full course load, advise students, participate in department meetings, hold regular office hours, and adhere to all other expectations of a full-time faculty member. All courses are taught in person on campus (no online instruction).

- have, at a minimum, a master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- be capable of teaching undergraduate statistics, precalculus, calculus, and math for liberal arts.
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
