Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Director of the Nursing Program position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City.  Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits.

Eastern Connecticut State University is searching a Director of Nursing to serve as its Chief 
Nursing Administrator, who will oversee the mission, goals, and expected program outcomes of the
nursing program. The Director will provide effective leadership to the Nursing Program, which 
is part of the Department of Health Sciences and Nursing, including managing the curriculum, 
accreditation process, academic program improvement, and the Program's financial affairs. The 
Director of Nursing will also work to establish and maintain community partnerships. Working with 
faculty and staff, the Director of Nursing will ensure the program achieves its mission, goals, and 
expected program outcomes. This is a 12-month position.

Required Qualifications
•  Registered Nurse (RN)
•  Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP, EdD, or PhD) from an accredited institution of higher education
•  State of Connecticut nursing licensure
•  Prior teaching experience at a college or university or related experience, such as clinical 
nursing education, equivalent to five years of full-time experience. Comparable standards may apply 
in assessing relevant experience
•  Ability to teach at all levels of the program
•  Demonstrated experience as an effective leader and team member
•  Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse communities
•  Excellent communication and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications
•  Specialization in oncology, hospice, and palliative care
•  Experiences working in diverse settings
•  Strengths in program development
•  Demonstrated ability to develop meaningful partnerships
•  CNE Credential: Certified Nurse Educator

Compensation and Employee Benefits
The Associate Professor - Director of Nursing is compensated at the Associate Professor salary level in accordance with Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (CSU-AAUP) Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement.
