Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Associate Director of Student Center/Activities position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City.  Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). POSITION TITLE: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF STUDENT CENTER/ACTIVITIES: PROGRAM SPECIALIST
RANK: INCUMBENT: ADMINISTRATOR 4
Under the direction of the Director of New Student & Family Programs in the Office of Student Activities, the Assistant Director assumes primary responsibility for the following:

       1. Supervises Campus Activity Board's student employee workforce in planning, implementation, and assessment of                      campus-wide social, educational, and cultural events and experiences for the student body.     
       2. Collaborates with other University Departments to plan and execute social and cultural programs and activities.
  1. Provides supervisory oversight for Graduate Interns assigned to the Office of Student Activities
  2. Manages and supervises Student Center evening programs.
  3. Advises Senior Class Committee and coordinates major event programs for Commencement, Fall Fest, and Spring Fest weekends.
  4. Assists in the implementation of the University's New Student and Parent Orientation programs.
  5. Serves as University liaison, coordinates commuter student services and communications.
  6. Coordinates with other Student Affairs offices to plan and implement Late Night programming initiatives.
  7. Develops and manages budgets, and tracks programming expenditures for the Campus Activity Board, the Senior Class Committee, and commuter programs.
  8. Negotiates, prepares, and reviews contracts for campus-wide programs.
  9. Generates reports related to program goals, objectives, and assessment initiatives, as required.
  10. Counsels and provides information, direction, and guidance to students on committees, programming, events, and admissions.
  11. Represents the Office of Student Center/Activities as needed.
  12. Performs other duties related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of position responsibility.
Qualifications: 
Four years of experience in student organization programming and the ability to relate effectively to students and staff. A bachelor’s is required, masters preferred. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate, alternate experience.

Compensation and Employee Benefits

The Associate Director of Student Center/Activities: Program Specialist is compensated at the Administrator 4 salary level in accordance with [CSCU Human Resources Policies for Management and Confidential Professional Personnel, or Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (CSU-AAUP) Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement, or State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF)].
